PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS
House of Heroes™ is a nonprofit organization serving our nation's military and public safety veterans (and their spouses) who are disabled, living on a fixed income, or facing other physical/financial challenges. Volunteers perform minor repairs and make improvements to the homes of veterans and their spouses—at no cost to the veteran—through the generosity of individuals, civic organizations, and corporations.
Home repairs include, but are not limited to, cleaning, painting, installation of access ramps, installations of screen windows and doors, repair or replacement of basic appliances, and yard maintenance and improvement. Home improvements are supervised by a local contractor and meet applicable codes.
In collaboration with The Family Center, Rally Point provides programs for Military with PTSD and TBI. These programs focus on getting vets out of their homes, interacting with other vets, and lowering the suicide rates among our heroes. This program is a literal “rally point” for vets to get together with other vets and learn coping skills. These vets will learn the ability to move forward leave their comfort zone and get back to participating in life. The main theme of this program is to show vets that “Your war is over welcome home, let’s get your life back.”
Vets will have the opportunity, at the end of the program, to attain more in-depth counseling if needed. Many participants will go on a life changing experience with Gameday For Heroes or a trip to the Holy Land with Heroes to Heroes to help find themselves and face the past.
Valley Rescue Mission offers emergency shelter, addiction services, family services, outreach to the homeless and operates no fee summer camp for at risk children. The Valley Rescue Mission Men’s Center transient program offers short term overnight lodging and basic essentials to men in need.
A 17 unit emergency shelter offers temporary housing for women and children who find themselves homeless as a result of an unexpected catastrophe. The River Ministry serves the local homeless population, many of them veterans, providing food, water, blankets, minor medial supplies and above all striving to give them hope. Valley Rescue Mission also offers emergency family services and a Christ Centered and free of charge Residential Addiction Recovery Program.
